Boloco $3 Burritos

Yummy goodness wrapped in a warm tortilla within a food-stained foil. Don't eat the foil.

Apparently, Boloco is the place to be this week for lunch. Every day they have had a deal on their burritos or bowls. Diners can get a regular size burrito (which is pretty substantial) for $3. If you have never been to this place, it is worth checking out. Similar to Chipotle, where you can choose your toppings except there are many more choices. You can order a standard Mexican-style burrito or be more adventurous and choose buffalo, Bangkok Thai, tikka masala, cajun or teriyaki. You can choose white or wheat tortilla, veggies, and they also have shakes and smoothies and amazing chocolate chip cookies just like mom used to bake. Sadly, you can not order a glass of milk to wash it down with.

$5 Subs, Burrito Club and Bold Bites Breakfast

$5 Hoagies After 5 p.m. - Taylor Gourmet

I saw this walking past the Taylor Gourmet on 14th Street in D.C. Apparently, all regular subs at all of their locations are $5 after 5 p.m. Good for a cheap solo dinner or save it for lunch the next day.

Nothin' says lovin' like giant, overstuffed burritos.

Join the Burrito Club!

BTW, the next time you're at California Tortilla, sign up for their Burrito Elito loyalty program. Nearly every week, Cal Tort offers Burrito Club members a free item, whether it's a free taco, soup, chips and queso, cinnamon-sprinkled chips and Nutella (yes, there's such a glorious thing) soda, etc. For each 50 points you earn, Cal Tort adds $5 to your card - enough to cover the bulk of the cost of a burrito. It's free to join.

Bold Bites Expands Menu Offerings:
Breakfast and Doughnuts

Bold Bites is awesome, point blank. It's also relatively cheap, friendly, fast service and right next door
to the office. Now, they are open at 8 a.m. offering breakfast sandwiches, including an egg, half-smoke and cheese sandwich and several breakfast arepas. For those unfamiliar, arepas are pocket corn cakes filled with eggs, cheese, meats, etc. It's a popular South American food and really good. Bold Bites' prices range from $4.50 - 5.50.

They also have doughnuts! Small doughnuts! I haven't tried them yet, but a few people who did said they are good, but rather buttery. If you're a big Krispy Kremes fan, these might be right up your alley.

Cheap Eats in Bethesda

We are all on the look out for a cheap, quick, delicious (and sometimes healthy) lunch. While Bethesda has 100+ awesome dining choices all within a one mile or so radius, many of these eateries are quite pricey and can easily break the budget for frequent diners. The intent of this blog is to share deals that you find around the area for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, happy hour, snack time, etc. If you also know of great deals in D.C., share those as well as a good portion of Bethesda workers either live in or commute through D.C. at some point.

Happy Eating!
